Health Information
No international immunisation is needed when entering South Africa. The only inoculation requirement is a yellow fever vaccination certificate from travellers over one year of age entering South Africa within six days of leaving an infected country. Visitors who travel through or disembark in these areas are advised to be inoculated against the disease before visiting South Africa.
Malaria is basically under control in South Africa. There are some affected regions (Northern Province, Mpumalanga, Northern Natal and Zululand), see KwaZulu-Natal Malaria Risk Map, but these regions are far away from Durban and Didima Camp. In any way, this conference takes place in winter where there are no mosquitos. Therefore, participants who do not plan to travel to the affected regions need not take any precaution.
